Obscure Game Theater – Uninvited Part One

As you may or may not know, I have two great loves when it comes to games I pick for the Obscure Game Theater… outside of the fairly obvious ‘Obscure’. I like to do adventures and I like to do games that I had problems with in the past to clear away my deep inner shame about being bad at video games. Today’s entry into the Theater happens to hit both of those points!

Uninvited is an early text style adventure game that was released on a number of systems. This one is probably the simplest of the three that made it to the NES, so I figured I’d start out here and maybe branch into the other two later on. I recall finding this game to be a bit on the scary side when I was little and quite difficult. Not as bad as, say,… Shadowgate, but still confusing and full of death. I was not particularly smart back in the day.

Let’s go explore an awful house because our older sister wandered into it, shall we?

I don’t really know why they needed to lock the door behind you. With the car exploding it’s not like you could go anywhere easily anyway.

The more I look at it, the more I want a crazy house like this one.

That’s all for now. It may look like the game has me stumped at times, but don’t worry. A true gentleman leaves no puzzle unsolved! Except for ones without solutions.

Just a 20-something who happens to make videos of games that you may or may not have heard of before with (ideally) amusing or informational commentary. I specialize in retro, or occasionally independent games, and some might say I even have a little bit of talent with them, but I am, in fact, only average to terrible at them.
